Wasteland 2 out of beta

http://store.steampowered.com/app/240760/

  • Hope you backed it, because now it’s $39.99.

  • From the brains behind the Fallout series and the game that spawned them, Wasteland.

  • Now I’m just waiting on Pillars of Eternity to hit linux beta.    Stupid missing executable

    • Oh.   And the new Torment game

Another World – 20th Anniversary Edition

http://store.steampowered.com/app/233550/

  • OG FK you hard.

Cannon Brawl comes to Lin… wha? Clicking “export” in Unity didn’t work?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/230860

  • Beats clicking export + ship

  • Welp, scratch that! Devel just wrote back saying it will ship.

  • Xclone support now makes /w the working

  • Good to see the community is learning to not buy shit until you can get your mits on an installable linux copy

  • Oh look, it’s “let’s put all 4 threads of Pedro’s calculator at 100% for no specific reason!” the game!

    • Also, I’m done playing Android apps on my PC.

  • Yeah, no issue with xbox controller support

  • The concept seems alright, but I can see the game getting very repeatitive

Multi Henk

  • Performance is still a bit shit …because Unity

Hadron

News:

Oh, NOW you say something

http://labzerogames.com/914-skullgirls-encore-on-linux-update/

  • I just want to point out that the ONLY reason they are addressing this is because the big bad jackholes (really any Linux user tired of being shite on) went skortched earf on them in the Steam forums. Speaking of big bad jackholes.

    • Fucking Christ.    There are people in this thread that want to give these guys more money.    Can you say “Abusive relationship” kids?

  • Now this is important because there are several out there who think things can be solved /w kindness and shitting rainbows.

  • This blitzkrieg accomplished more in one week VS anything prior.

  • Allow me to rebut, point by point

    • During our crowdfunding campaign, someone approached us volunteering to port the game to Linux. We did not actively solicit a volunteer simply so we could say we were doing a port and attract more backers.

      • No, you simply used misleading language to imply a port was/is in development to attract more backers

    • The Linux port has been a volunteer effort since the very beginning.

      • Which was never communicated to anyone who backed your campaign during the course of or even after the campaign completed successfully.  Only after being harangued about it by linux users who felt shafted

    • The Linux port was never included in our budget for the Indiegogo campaign. The Indiegogo campaign was strictly for funding new content. Nowhere in the breakdown of our budget for the Indiegogo campaign is “Linux port” included. Nor is “PC port” included for that matter.

      • And yet people on windows are playing your game.   Right now even

  • And finally

    • Will the Linux port of Skullgirls EVER happen?

    • If people keep stepping up to do it, then it will happen eventually.

      • Fuck you and your stupid monkey faces.   I hope your children get leukemia

    • clapping_joker_batman_dark_knight.gif

  • Why did it take 18 months to announce that Linux was never budgeted?

  • The Linux port should be free.

  • Oh, take note Carmageddon

    • HOGAN.jpg

  • Renaud Lapage from G+ got me keys for the game and all the DLC about 2 moons ago.

    • I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get to use them at this rate.

Nvidia 343.22 driver out, lacks support for 970/80 …I’m just fkn /w ya! Day one

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/77844/en-us

Chrome 6

http://rootgamer.com/11666/development/chrome-engine-6/chrome-engine-6-supports-linux

  • The engine behind Dead Island

    • Which gives me hope that the Dead Island port won’t be just a wrapper. Maybe they’ll use it as a test for Chrome 6. (Wishful thinking, I know!)

  • And perhaps most interestingly, Hellraid! I want me some Hellraid on Linux.

Terraria for Linux is officially in development

http://terraria.org/news/terraria-for-mac-linux-in-development

  • Kind of expected, considering we have two different versions of the basic concept of this game running under linux

  • Yeah, /w all the clones I have little interest

    • Yeah! That ship has long since sailed for me.

Commander Keen source now released on Github-

OpenMW 0.32.0

https://openmw.org/2014/openmw-0-32-0-released/

  • Hey, remember that art replacement project that said they wouldn’t be supporting OpenMW?   Well, OpenMW is gonna be compatible whether they like it or not

  • Also, full implementation of Magic, Facial movements, party mechanics and improvements to NPC AI.   Good stuff

Makes with the working

Shiny / Sounds

V-

  • The original Genesis ROM clocked in at 1MB

  • In that day is was proper metal to see something that looked like FMV on a FK mothering cart.

J-

  • Ultimately, this is a 20 year old game, and you can’t really hold it to modern standards

  • Still, it’s nothing to write home about.   The epitome of 2 chairs

P-

  • The so called HD graphics look about the same on this LCD as they did on the old CRT TVs in the Mega Drive version.

  • They include the Amiga ROMs with the game and the two adf files only take 1.8MBs.

  • Most of the 700MB used disk space comes from the “Bonus” content.

    • Namely the Making Of video and the OST (uncompressed .wav files).

  • The game itself only takes up 118MBs.

Control

V-

  • G-money did a fantastic jerb of sorting the controls.

  • I know this since they are just as shit as the original.

J-

P-

  • It may be me misremembering shit from 1994, but the controls on the Mega Drive version were atrocious.

  • Now it actually registers button presses at the right time.

FUN

V-

  • This is a nostalgia trip …of pain!

  • Granted, the cinamatic shite  blew my brain-organ in 1992 but the game was rubbish.

J-

  • Fuck this game

  • This is Dragon’s Lair for the NES

P-

  • It’s a game from 2013 remade from the 2006 remake of a 1991 title.

  • It’s got that early 90’s level of “We ain’t tellin’ you shit! Figure it out!”

    • It’s actually slightly worse than Vangers at that.
