Sorry, Venn, but it wasn't the game sucking. It's a moderately complex physics puzzle. Play through the single player and you start to get the hang of how these puzzles work.

You probably didn't get all the details on portal physics, like the orientation of the exit and entrance matter, speed and angle in are the same coming out, etc.
