When I heard about the raspberry pi "high quality camera module" I thought was everyone else thought: "DIY DSLR!" But then I wondered. Why cant other SBC platforms come out with their own "high quality camera?" I suspect it's lack of demand but I want your thoughts.

Would i have to 3d print my own camera mount for a sensor using one of the standards (MIPI sci)? Am i starting a kickstarter?
