Thanks for featuring the game! Strikers is actually a Dreamcast game which is going to be released on physical disc simultaneously with the Linux and Windows Steam versions - so you were right that it looks like from that period! It's the first ever online Dreamcast indie game, and it supports crossplay with all systems :)
