Gah Ryzen ; So here is the thing. I use a bunch of CPU Feature set stuff to support IOMMU and Virtio pass-through ( I work with libvirt and network stuff) - feature set compat with intel is important and often lacking in the opteron range in comparison to the xeons.

Mobo chipset feature support as well as cpu support go hand in hand.

None of the currently released am4 stuff appears to mention two features which are must haves ' iommu support ' and increasingly thunderbolt3 (which means not just eGPU support, but qsfp+ breakout).
