RAM Drive

I’m building my first Gaming PC in 12 years. I ditched Windows about 8 years ago. I had a theory for improving load times and wondered if any of you guys had tired it.
The motherboard I’m waiting for is a X399 and I plan on loading as much ram as possible, mounting a large chunk as a ram drive (mkdir mnt/ramdisk/;mount -t tmpfs -o size=51200m tmpfs /mnt/ramdisk), shadowing the game files too the mounted drive file (disk dump, or cp) and copy the contents back when closed. I’ve read that system memory is somewhere around 600 times faster than SSD and have wondered if this would make any significant improvements in gaming. Just curious if you guys have tried something like this.

I know this is a little outside of your Podcasts usual content, but when it comes to gaming on Linux, Linux Gamecast is the best. I figured I’d ask while I’m waiting for my parts to arrive.
