The only way esports will work is if games with interesting and respected mechanics are used, have worthy/skilled players in a competition/meritocracy for rank and tournament wins, and game mods allowing godlike camera control for the new breed of "camera men" that would be required to identify and cinematically focus on during a live broadcast. They'd need someone to switch between cameras and control transition effects, and decent technical and color commentary for the play-by-play.
