Thus I was wondering: will this firewire interface actually record 8 inputs at the same time via the firewire?

I'm about to convert our multimedia studio's audio/ video production/ post production stack over to Linux full time them. I need at LEAST 8 Inputs recording at the same time, to 8 tracks at the same time in (maybe) Tracktion Waveform, if Ardour can't handle that many simultaneous analoge inputs from live drums, bass guitar, and rythem guitar, and a scratch vocal, so we can go back and THEN dub in all the other final tracks later before final mixdown/ mastering.

WILL this firewire record all 8 or more inputs simultaneously? I really don't want to record a live band as two channels THEN go back and RE-record the entire project track by track. that takes a bit longer lol.
