Gaming Laptop

Hey guys,

Love both shows, keep up the great work, I am a patron, blah, blah, blah...

Not too long ago, there was a comment on System 76's relatively new offering the Oryx Pro. To paraphrase your thoughts, overpriced with meh hardware. System 76 re-brands and customizes Sager/Clevo laptops so I decided to find the equivalent Sager machine (Sager np8657-s) for cheaper. At the time of the mention on LDW/LGCW,
I had only had it for about a month.

After a few months, a my impressions. It is a high quality piece of hardware (mostly aluminum) for a decent price. It is also very thin. It has replaced my desktop (until Zen arrives) as my development and gaming machine. Games run at least as well or better than my former desktop (FX-8370, GTX-970, 16 gig ram). With decent settings on Ark: We haven't optimized anything yet® (medium to high), I get north of 40 fps. My only complaint is that battery life sucks but I knew that would be a compromise.

I don't regret my purchase.
