Easy to use desktops are incredibly subjective and no, users, especially windows users are not used to different desktop environments. People who are used to a windows environment will not be at all comfortable using gnome, pantheon or even budgie. And no not any modern linux distributions will be perfect, you wouldn't make a windows users use sabyon would you? (Unless you hate them that is).


And win7 users migrating to linux is more or less a pipe dream just like during the early win8 or even vista years, there will be some who will make the transition but for the most part they'll stay in the windows ecosystem as these are the same users as Venn put it, will keep using it till it becomes woefully unsupported by sw vendors, like the winXP users previously
