THQ files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, shares halted

THQ Inc. THQI -68.84% on Wednesday said it has signed an “asset purchase agreement” with affiliates of Clearlake Capital, which will buy “substantially” all of the videogame publisher’s assets. As part of the sale, THQ has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a U.S. federal court in Delaware. Trading in THQ shares was halted. The stock was last down 11.6% at $1.22. THQ stock has fallen 84% year-to-date.
