I have tried helping new users and they disconnect at the point of, it don’t work. Meaning the latest windows game does not even run in wine. So to them Linux no matter the flavor is broke. So what do they do they go back to windows and tell everyone Linux does not work. Hence the cycle that has been fought about since it’s inception. Don’t get me me wrong the api part of wine is great for compatibility but I can not rely on it to work 100% when it is only a translator not a native answer. These new windows users complain about windows programs that don’t install because their shit s infected. So they go into the forums and bash the program they tried to install not their own stupidity for getting the machine infected. It’s a vicious cycle, you have to stop it somewhere. Native is the answer.
