    I hate that accent, I talk in a mutated scottish-american-gibberish-liverpudlian accent.

    Every idiot knows to use “sudo su -” unless you want to mess up the permissions in your user’s home directory.

    No, you either use sudo or you use su. sudo has 2 flags that will drop you in a root shell: sudo -s or sudo -i

    su is for when you don’t have sudo.
