Well, after several hundreds of thousands of hours of scratching my head, I have discovered that you can’t export models from Blender for use in Source SDK 2013 using Linux. Or at least not within the world of Steam. With just about every Valve game for windows they included a program called StudioMDL.exe which is in the bin dir. These games include (but not limited to) Portal 2, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and Source SDK 2013. But under Linux, there is no such program anywhere to be found. As of now, I’m awaiting a reply from Valve.

    EDIT
This isn’t from valve but from the Blender – Source community.

If you don’t have a file at commonbinstudiomdl* then you can’t build models on Linux.

For Linux development I would recommend Unity.

Guess that Blender integration thing still isn’t in.
