Took the pepsi challenge and it didn’t go so well. Now I maintain a game rated Garbage on AppDB: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. … &iId=33711

Meanwhile, I’ll go full heretic and reboot on benchmarkOS 10.

    Have you tried 32-bit WINE?

To run a 64bit executable? Hmm, no?

Didn’t know it was 64-bit only.

Yup, iD Software started doing that since Wolfenstein: TNO. It was actually that game that brought 64bit wine support in Lutris.

The game fails to launch because a copy protection called Denuvo is not yet supported by Wine: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40631

This copy protection seems to be the hot thing for current games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denuvo#Li … cted_games

So I reckon the game will play flawlessly after denuvo acknowledges the existence of WINE?

What makes you think Denuvo gives a shit about Wine? It’s up to the Wine dev team to fix their code so Denuvo copy protected games won’t crash (they will crash anyway since every other game is DirectX 11 based but Doom will work).

Also, Wine 1.9.10 should have been released friday morning. This is what I do every 2 weeks, compile Wine, upload to Lutris and test if DirectX 11 has made any progress by launching Strider (The 2014 Capcom game, not myself). Still no 1.9.10, this is very unusual.

I actually want Denuvo to die in a brilliant way and the people at Denuvo I want to see them die, not because I hate them but because I hate humans

Wine 1.9.10 has been released. Looks like I’ll be booting on Windows for at least another 2 weeks.
