Does Apple even care about gaming?

So the new MacBook Pro techs came out (http://arstechnica.com/apple/2016/10/ap … book-pros/ ) and I can’t seem to understand why Apple picks Intel and AMD video cards; it’s like “you know what, fuck gaming so hard” or am I missing something?
