KeymasterTime for another quick and dirty bench on the old Box of Business.
Tested with High and Low presets at 1080p and 2160p.
CPU: AMD 8150 X8 OC 4Ghz
GPU: NVIDIA 980 4GB
RAM: 8GB
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO
OS: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Kernel: 3.13.0
DM: XFCE 4.12
Video Driver Version: 364.19Compositor: Disabled

SSE4.1 is to blame. If Zen isn’t happening until next year, maybe Vishera is the way to go? FX-9370 or FX-8350?edit: according to CPUBoss the 8350 is the way to go – http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-FX-9370-vs-AMD-FX-8350

Participantthe FX-9k cpus are complete and utter rubbish and not worth the price giiven the amount of heat those tings give out, the 8k series are the ones that’ll hold out

If it’s just stopgap, why not get the 6300?

If it’s just stopgap, why not get the 6300?
That is an entirely sensible solution. What have you done with the real Pedro?
Gotta deal with my RAM issue before I even think about this upgrade.
