4Gb of DDR2. Thinking about upgrading another 4Gb before it gets way to expensive. I usually only hit the swap when a program is misbehaving, otherwise it’s just fine.
I had 32GB but found it superfluous (used a thesaurus) so went back to 16 GB, used the other 2x8GB sticks elsewhere and to be honest I didn’t detect any performance drop, maybe if I ran 6 VMs at once I would. I was running Fallout NV in Wine
RAM was just so cheap earlier this year, (8GB sticks @$26 a pop) couldn’t help myself ( I remember paying $100 for 1MB 30pin sims)…anyway on-sold 8 of them a few weeks back for $55 each, nice profit (which is rare for PC HW!).
Well, looks like I’ll be upgrading to 16 GB shortly… minecraft servers and clients just gobble up memory
Yeah I run the Minecraft server and AAO 2.5 serveron a G5 Dl360 with 8 cores and 12GB of ram. There is other stuff runing on it too like owncloud and soon retroshare (it will be my hub for retroshare).
