MemberHow big of a pile of shit that Windows port was anyway? Did Feral walk away? I really want to get the dirt on what happened, did they ever even get the console code?

ParticipantSeeing how the Windows version was a broken mess when it arrived (and I believe it is still having issues). It isn’t that surprising that the Linux port had been dropped from that perspective.

Quote:Did Feral walk away? No. Notice the ‘wb’ in the username in the annoucement? That’s for Warner Bros. I have yet to see any announcement from Feral about this. I’m pretty sure this has taken them by surprise as well, they seemed very dedicated to making a good port out of this game.
Quote:I really want to get the dirt on what happened, did they ever even get the console code? There’s this big myth that the code from the console version is so much better than the Windows version. It isn’t, it’s pretty much the same. And it wouldn’t make the slightest amount of sense to use that instead of the Windows codebase to build a Linux port, especially now that we know of IndirectX.
The game seems better on console because it has been optimised to run steadily on a single machine. It still runs at 30FPS though, I can hardly call that good performance…February 4, 2016 at 6:31 pm #75751strider

So that’s Feral’s only comment on this. In other words “We have nothing to do with it, go bug Warner about it.”

In actual terms: “Our Contract with WB Interactive/NDA prohibits discussion of this matter. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ “

(If they had anything to do with the game being cancelled, they would have left out the “direct queries to Warner” part) -
