“Feeling Good About the Linux Steamworks Update Sale
    Community Announcements – Psygineer
Just because it is a nice sunny summer day and we are all feeling good, Running With Scissors has decided that just for fun we would run another one of our fantastic video game sales to celebrate the release of the POSTAL 2 for Linux Steamworks Update featuring all the Steamworks glory of the Windows version! Up for grabs is everyone’s much loved POSTAL 2 for 90% off and Paradise Lost for 35% off Remember this is for a limited time only. By this time next week the sale will be over! Right now it’s too hot around here to go outside for even a few minutes without getting burnt to a crisp. Depending on where you are, you might just want to crank up the air-conditioner or get those fans blowing some nice cool air before you start in playing your favorite RWS games.

Who knows…if its cloudy, foggy or rains tomorrow or if someone gets a parking ticket etc., we might not feel so great and take our sale back off again. For the time being though, now is your chance to pick up your copies of POSTAL 2 and Paradise Lost at ridiculously low prices. Keep in mind at these low prices to grab a few extras to give away. Impress your friends with your generosity right now or keep them to give out as birthday or Christmas gifts. Don’t forget to get your wife and/or girlfriend a copy of each and of course don’t forget dear old Mom. Why not buy a set for all three, be the hero of the day and keep everybody happy.

So all you Penguin loving Linux people out there who have been waiting to pick up POSTAL 2 on Steam until it was updated the same way as the Windows users, you have no excuses for not doing it today! Don’t worry Mac people, we have not forgotten you, your day will come too!

For a complete changelog, which includes a recap of all the amazing POSTAL 2 updates since our 2013 updates for our Linux fans (or in case you’ve forgotten), mash go on this link! “

There is a bug, On Tuesday Return the Book at the Library……… it seems to not go in the box but you can’t retrieve it then it dissappears. They say you can buy another book at the mall so I will try that.

There are no system requirements but the SteamOS icon is here. The game downloads and launches with no problem. Regarding the system requirements, Postal 2 is so old that it should run on anything including your microwave oven.

Speaking of old, I’d like to address a recurring bug I’ve experienced with all SDL 1.x games. When switching resolutions, the game will display in a rectangle the size of the old resolution in the top left corner of the screen. The game has to be restarted in order to work properly at the new resolution. This can be super annoying since the button to restart the game can often be hidden.
Is this a known thing? Does this happen to other people? I’d like to report the bug somewhere but I kinda lack info on what could be causing this.

Edit: not a NVidia driver thing, tried the game on the Zenbook with Intel GPU / Mesa and the bug is still here.
Edit 2: the bug is specific to Gnome Shell and Unity. Under XFCE and Openbox, resolution switching works properly.

With KDE, if an SDL 1.2 game defaults to full screen, it’ll disable any other monitors on the same X session. Windowed or borderless fsw it scales fine.
