Again, hail SleepBeef for providing the ffmpeg script. That said, I scraped that clusterfuck of a streaming solution and repaired our original system. Repos were pulled, VIM was used, but no trees were harmed.

So it was a Twitch fix (you know they made a patch and never said a word) they never told us about?

Oddly no. This weeks SNAFU award goes to a hipster security update in libav. Ended up reworking some bits.

Oh lovely……..so what else will it affect for everyone? Since it is Libav…….

Doubt it. The problem arose from our hacked up build of something once known as ffmpeg.

Hmmm appears to have affected the script we use to stream to twitch. Some changes need to be made to it. Tested confirmed issue with no stream.

Guess what, using ffmpeg on ARCH works, but avconv on Xubuntu 12.04 is broken. This is getting seriously interesting… and annoying.

Update your Xubuntu 12.04 ffmpeg https://launchpad.net/~jon-severinsson/+archive/ffmpeg

I’m “guessing” that will sort your issue. I pulled the latest 0.X git and moved the needed bits to our build.

A quick-and-dirty test (watch out for LOUD audio)
