It’s literally just that!
Go to the Limbo folder in Steam/SteamApps/common, delete or rename the limbo file, run the installer that comes with the DRM free version and point it at your Steam/SteamApps/common/Limbo folder (in my case it was ~/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Limbo).Then you can just start from within Steam.
The achievements probably won’t unlock, though.
