    tl; dr – if you don’t like PPAs, don’t upgrade to 16.04 until 16.10 (and therefore 16.04.1) is out.

    The version of Xorg shipped with Ubuntu 16.04 is not compatible with the latest version of fglrx. It seems like AMD abandoned all support for fglrx the moment they shipped the AMDGPU driver.

    well I don’t blame them, fglrx is fucking horrible, breaks everything from chrome to … everything

    also shut up cameron!
