“Vienna, September 30, 2014 Shadowrun Online, the multiplayer turned base strategy game based on the best-selling tabletop RPG SHADOWRUN will release its Linux version this week as part of its next early access update.
The development team has announced that on Thursday, October 2, a Linux Alpha version will be available to all Linux players who have been clamoring for a Linux port since the early days of the kickstarter for the game.
We had requests from our fans to release Shadowrun Online on Linux and we always said we would do it, though it is a challenge for an indie studio to build Linux versions and test them thoroughly. We picked one Ubuntu version and went with it, but we have way too few people to test other versions as much as we would like, so we kindly ask our community and Linux users to help us make it work and give us feedback in the spirit of the Linux movement says Jan Wagner, Co-founder and creative director.Shadowrun Online, although it is in early access, has been releasing new updates on a monthly bases including the release of co-op mode, rent a hench and character selection and customization. Shadowrun Online will be co-op and multiplayer turn-based but fast-paced RPG in the tradition of games such as XCom set in the 2070s of the Shadowrun universe.“
