    About

Car simulation is done byVDrifta great game by itself.

Rendering is done byOGRE, trees/grass byPagedGeometry, Gui byMyGUI.

The road is based on a 3D spline and it's fully customizable in editor.

For more info, read the Wiki pages (links left) and Readme.txt file.

I was enjoying my Sunday morning hangover when Scrawl sent in word that ITWORKSONLINUX! So, I made a strong pot-o-tea and pulled the repo. After a bit of Ogre nonsense everything compiled and worked.

It's, fkn, fun and looks nice. Really, the only complaint is the system requirements. StuntRally uses VDrift (a cross-platform, open source driving simulation made with drift racing in mind) and bang for buck it sucks. Not hating on the VDrift project but it's a bit resource intensive.

It's going to be a bit before that happens. There is good reason I have never captured T.O.R.C.S. of VDrift. Granted, I can capture DOOM3 (everything on 11), 0 A.D., WARSOW, Caster-HD, CQB Alpha @ 60+ fps but anything based on that engine, not so much :(

Fact is; on my modest AMD X2 2.8 2GB 9500GT 1GB boxen I only manage 50'ish FPS. Same with TORCS and VDrift. Factor in the 10% performance hit of the recording software and we hover around 30FPS. The guys on the StuntRally team are working on speeding things up and good on them. Barring somone donating a 3/4X AMD CPU so I can brute for it; we shall wait. Hey, the game is in the early stages, so no worries.
