KeymasterQuote:Q: Is there a reason you are using wine as opposed to porting natively?A: unfortunately we do not have access to the source code.

This bring up two FK mothering questions.
1. Are these people being stupid on purpose? Have they the brain worms? Really, we don’t exactly like WINE “ports”
2. We know Steam has some WINE compatibility but will they make it a thing for lazy ports?Grr… I need to go find a chair.

KeymasterDon’t care if the code is on FK mothering Mars. Allowing WINE ports in the native Linux client sets a horrid precedent.

MemberYeah I hope other devs don’t see this and make it an excuse not to make a native port.

ParticipantCall me crazy; but using wine to play a game isn’t a “port” it’s nothing more than when I use MAME to play old arcade games…yes; I just said wine is mame.

MemberFOR WHAT IT IS… WINE is great. Unfortunately, it’s a type of hack. It’s amazing to think its translating in real time. It took me a while to realize the inherent problem with an over reliance on WINE though (I’m slow). When push comes to shove, runnin’ sumthin’ on WINE isn’t a ‘Linux game’, it’s a plan B

I don’t think these poor bastards know what they’re in for.

MemberI bet most people here wouldn’t know what Arcade games are written in? and why MAME is WINE just for something a little different. By the way I used to flash those proms………….
