KeymasterAre you saying an OGRE game relying on Alsa for sound, being run through PulseAudio on a crappy plugin, causes buffer underruns and possibly fucks up the rest of the audio until the sink is reset? Nah! </sarcasm>
I know why it happens but short of getting a dedicated sound card (or a motherboard with REALLY GOOD audio) which will handle the underruns on the hardware instead of letting pulse/alsa deal with it, I have no idea how to fix it.

ParticipantDidn’t notice any issue with a 2009 Intel HDA 82801JI integrated chipset running on Ubuntu 14.10.

ParticipantWhenever in doubt, kill Pulseaudio.
killall -9 pulseaudio
be advised, depending on OS settings, it may start again and you need to set up steam as well, if you are using steam to start the game.
Mother fucker was giving me so much grief, but i can’t get rid of it, skype needs it.(and apulse did give some head ache with some software too, though, not apulse fault most likely)
Once web skype works as expected = bye bye pulse.January 30, 2016 at 9:16 am #75734dimko
Participantkillall -9 pulseaudio

MemberI’ve noticed this with more than a few games, to the point I have a dedicated category in Steam for them. Below is my (thus far) universal fix.
Code:PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command% -
