MemberSo , I decided to ditch AMD for good, and get myself a 770 just like Venn did. And maybe some Intel CPU. The problem is I also need new mother board, and since Venn already got the system build around 770 I figured he can help. Oh and I got micro atx case;/

MemberHmmm, I already own a75 based motherboard (a10-5800k;) besides new Kaveri apus gonna have different sockets won’t they?
so are you sure it would be a good idea to buy a new motherboard like that at this point?

KeymasterI built it just to have something to test SteamOS on.
Most Unity games are GPU intensive (the octo-core render boxen rarely scales over 1.4ghZ) so wicked fast CPU seems useless at this time.
I would spend the wet stinky on SSDs and discrete GPU.

MemberHere’s the thing. I have a discrete GPU (HD 7870) in theory a good peace of hardware. In practice its performance is rubbish. But people are telling me that it shouldn’t be as bad as I am describing it, so i figured it mighty be my a10 bottlenecking or motherboard being shit. But if you say i don’t need to upgrade those things then great, thanks for help:P

KeymasterThe HD 7870 is a proper card for Windows. It’s a crippled POS on Linux.
