I’ve seen a post about what distro you use , but curious as to what DE/WM everyone uses. I have a habit of switching around, but have been coming back to KDE lately for my laziness I guess. So shatrealm what do you use?

Xfce. Started with AfterStep tinkered with pre-1.X KDE and went XFCE around 99 and never looked back.

Gnome-shell on my Fedora 19 and on my Ubuntu 13.04 Thinkpad. Unity when running Ubuntu on my desktop. I also like running KDE and XFCE once in a while.

Am I the only one left on this planet using e16? It has everything needed and no more. This gives me much more streamlined flexibility in what basic programs I use in my environment.

I used e17 for a few months about a year ago, but even with composite etc off…felt like to much bling for me.

I tried E17 a few months back with meh results. I would prefer a WM but have yet to find one that plays nice with three monitors.

Venn have you tried Awesome WM? It is a little more hands on to get it configured, but I have used it on dual monitors with ease. Each monitor has it’s own workspaces etc. Only issue I met was wallpaper was the same on all the monitors. If you want each monitor to be there own workspace then I would suggest i3. With that monitor 1 would be workspace 1, moniter 2 workspace 2…etc. i3wm is easier to configure compared to awesome that is for sure.

No, but it looks proper! At this point our capture box boots in 6sec to desktop /w XFCE4. That and our not-so fancy capture system is tied to Xfce.
