I kinda expected this but here’s someone that confirms it, DOOM runs out of the box on Wine!

Are you saying WINE does its job as a translation layer all the better if it’s not having to convert D3D calls to OpenGL? Who knew!? :|

But will it run with Vulkan?

I wasn’t worried too much about OpenGL, I was more afraid of a shitty middleware that wouldn’t play nicely with Wine.
But iD Software are not huge fans of shitty middleware so I’m glad to know I’ll be playing this on day 1 on Linux :P

The WIkipedia page for DOOM says the engine is OpenGL and Vulkan.
Now the real question is, when will Wine translate DX calls to Vulkan call? (Or Windows Vulkan to Linux Vulkan in the case of DOOM)

Is the engine using Opengl 4.5 or 4.3?
