So i was thinking. PS4 is announced (PC with modified BSD) and everyone is like: “wow new Playstation! that’s awesome!” Xbox One is announced (PC with modified windows) and reaction is similar. Valve announced StamOS (PC’s with modified Linux) and people are all like: ” Whaaat? what are they trying to do? we don’t need another os, we got windows blah, blah, blah” Is it just me or people are creating fake boundaries? I bet that if Valve would just say “we are going to release a console” public would be much more enthusiastic, or at least instead comparing it to windows , they would compare it to new consoles. Well that’s just pucker my lips:/
Hey; all I can say is in my day, the only consoles were Sega, Nintendo, and Sony. And most people don’t even know that the WiU is nothing like the Wii… That being said; I’m still awaiting a good linux based mobile console system similar to the *DS* or PSP/VITA #holyshitwhendidIgetsoold

Off it.The complaints about consoles, and windows and everything else and how it all sucks has become so fucking boring. Windows gamers think Linux is a joke, how are you still surprised by this news.
I am a avid believer in Linux as a Operating system for my computer. I have been a gamer for most of my life. The rest is all bullshit drama… The comparing, name calling etc.

Fuck em. Valve is getting game and driver developers to get their lazy asses in gear and work with a open source Unix type OS. Thas all that matters. Windows and console gamers can go suck a fat veiny one for all I care.
Valve didn’t create a new OS they created a new console running an OS we have already…… which the other 2 have run till the snooty polluties at the top said no ours is better than that and locked it down. So Valve is showing them how wrong they were. I have modded Xbox’s and Playstations to run linux and they did it very well and played games of all sorts and emulators. So bravo Valve, for taking the risk of showing them and giving us a gaming paradise. With all good things you have to have to wait. It is happening. Venn we .need to have an LGC party on that lawn of yours.
Just to be clear: i love what Valve is doing. My post is more about people still thinking in 1995 categories. While this gen consoles gonna be only lockdown PC’s. And Valve is the only company that is actually doing next gen right and fair as they won’t sue you for using full potential of your machine. But yeah I should probably listen to Sore_Loser advice, and stop caring so much. oh , and whatever you do, don’t call SteamOS linux, wait until it will become successful:P
SteamOS is Linux and has Valves Steam running on it like your desktop. Linux it is, with a Valve Twist.
