KeymasterSo I updated to Fedora 23 and instead of KDE (because fuck Plasma 5), I’m now using Cinnamon 2.8.
Everything was smooth and games were performing well but I had to put the DE to the test. The KDE results were from Korora 21, the day before the update.
Anecdotal evidence taken at face value, I’d say it’s about on par. Better in Heaven, worse in Valley but not really too different on either. That said, Cinnamon has made leaps and bounds since last time I tried it. Not just in performance but in stability as well, I haven’t had it crash yet and I’ve been poking it with some really sharp sticks.

The difference between using a “heavy” WM and a “lightweight” one is less than 1 FPS…November 21, 2015 at 5:07 pm #75336strider

Not that it makes a big difference anyway but that could affect the results more than the choice of a WM.

I’ve upgraded my driver to 358.16 since the first benchmark but still no noticeable performance gain.
