Fun?:

  • Venn:
    • First impression: This looks really nice.
    • Second impression: Oh we’re stuck on this Fox thingy, it better look nice.
    • Third: The hell am I doing?
    • You have some little plants, some big plants. I’m guessing they are plants?
    • The goal is to spread seed, grow new plants, combine plants into bigger plants and profit #plants.
    • Sometimes the fox says line that grow up, yo.
    • If you do you get, you guessed it, more plant.
    • I passed the time by pretending I was growing opium and the Fox was the cartel boss.
    • The random animals that showed up were the DEA.
    • I may have issues.
    • It’s the classic easy to play hard to master formula.
    • It would be nice it the game did something to signal progression.
    • Had optional timers between grows to introduce some urgency.
    • Swap out the background tiles a bit more frequently #signalprogresstion
    • Allow me to rename the Fox to Carlos.
    • Had a mobile version because during my QA session I was constantly thinking I could be doing something elks while still playing Evergarden.
    • Ultimately I like it for what it is, a clicker puzzle game thingy.
    • Unfortunately a $17.99 ask for a puzzle game in 2018 is nigh impossible.
    • Especially one designed for 5 minute-at-a-time interactions.
    • Give me a mobile version, price it to sell and I will pick it up.
  • Jordan
    • Not to be deterred, I went to the backup ubuntu mate partition and the game worked
    • And you know what, I actually like the game
    • Really requires you to apply some math, which you then screw up when you realize what you did
    • The sticky control screwed me a little, cuz you have to click again to deselect something
    • Getting triangles is the name of the game, which lets you unlock songs that can upgrade plants or get rid of armadildos
    • I liked it well enough to accidentally sink a couple hours into it, and if that’s not the mark of a good puzzle game I don’t know what is
    • Venn’s right though, it’s pretty fuckin’ pricey for what you actually get
  • Pedro
    • It’s a puzzle where you unlock these little triangle things and use them to make progress.
    • It’s actually a perfectly good puzzle game.
    • But if it sounds like there’s a but coming, oh yeah! There’s a but coming.
    • And it’s not a terrible warty butt
    • Just a plain repetitive butt.
    • The puzzle is always the same.
    • Sometimes you get a rabbit, sometimes you get armadillos, sometimes you screw yourself over by making stupid moves.
    • But it’s always the same puzzle.
