Fun?:

  • Venn:
    • Again, Streets of Rage and Don’t Starve together had a babby.
    • It’s a ground-and-pound brawler with the addad ability to posses shite… that I can’t use.
    • This is a really really bad thing but not for the reason you might think.
    • Thing is, I was more than happy to play /w swingy sword man for the hour of time I put into it.
    • If you “neat” mechanic can be ignored it might not really be that neat.
    • I quit ready the middling dialogue when the word millennial showed up.
    • Skill upgrades after each level but I ended up picking them at random because on normal difficulty this thing shites health.
    • Unlike Pedro I refuse to play a brawler /w a keyboard so I know I’m missing out on some of the fun.
    • And if you at home are anything like Old Man Venn™ heed my word-organ.
    • Meh.
  • Jordan
    • It’s not a bad little beat’em up
    • The whole body swapping mechanic is neat and you despite having to level up your dude over again, you get some stuff that persists
    • The levels get a bit samey, but they keep adding new monsters and hazards to keep things interesting
    • I could take or leave the in between video segments. They’re trying to be funny and failing horribly.
    • Homeboy really needs some online multiplayer though
  • Pedro
    • It’s like Crawl but more of just a beat’em up rather than what Crawl tried to do.
    • The action is solid, if a bit let down by the sound effects being somewhat meh.
    • I like the background music, it’s subtle but when you do notice it fits right in.
    • I like the roguelite elements, if the person you’re possessing dies you will have to start from scratch with a base level one.
    • But as you progress and kill enemies, your Valkyrie also levels up and one of those skills is to let you summon higher level dudes.
    • Honestly, I wish I could play with the controller, that’d be nice.
    • But it’s not a horrible game, at least not after you find a way to resize the window down to something sensible.
