In this quick-and-dirty how-to we’re installing DaVinci Resolve 16 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. This should also work with 18.10 and 19.04.
Software:
DaVinci Resolve 16
MakeResolveDeb
1. Install xorriso
sudo apt install xorriso libssl1.0.0 ocl-icd-opencl-dev fakeroot
2. Create the *.deb package.
./makeresolvedeb_16.0b1-1.sh lite
3. Install DaVinci Resolve 16.
sudo dpkg -i davinci-resolve_16.0b1-1_amd64.deb
TIP: Transcode MP4 for Davinci Resolve editing.
ffmpeg -i INPUT.mp4 -c:v dnxhd -profile:v dnxhr_hq -pix_fmt yuv422p -c:a pcm_s16le OUTPUT.mov
