Linux Broadcasting software

  • Hey, it’s a start. Not a good one, but a start because GUI

  • I suggest switching to libav for streaming but WTH do I know.

Steam News:

Serious update

http://steamcommunity.com/app/41070/discussions/0/792924412076324046/

  • Fixed unresponsive input when framerate is low on Linux

  • Custom controller config is now a thing

No more room in heck update

http://www.nomoreroominhell.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10324&page=15#entry158485

  • Fixed most of the missing textures.

    • 3 months later

  • Converted all sound files to .wav for Linux compatibility (this is why the patch is big)

    • What? oggVorbis is too mainstream?

  • Aaaaaand gamepad support is still naught.

  • I want ze beta!

News:

0 A.D. closes with 33,251

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/support-0-a-d-an-open-source-strategy-game

  • In a world…Where Venn Stone voices trailers for Open source games…

  • Flexible campaign, means they get the dosh either way

  • 33 is a bit short but it’s good knowing that wet stinky will help continue development.

Extra Humble

https://www.humblebundle.com/

  • Bard’s Tale, Broken Sword, Organ Trail, Anomaly best Korea

  • Literally more games that I already own.

  • Literally games I don’t care about

Stretching RAIN!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1847847657/raindrop-0

  • Love the lack of mention of Linux anywhere, other than that retarded .png with the campaign goals.

  • Just wanted to give the project a mention since it does not have Linux as a stretch goal.

    • I suppose barely mentioning it counts

Probably Archery

http://www.probablyarchery.com/

  • Another 7 Day FPS entry looking to milk some money.

  • Looks interesting, even though suffers from the exact same problems as Wolfire’s Receiver.

  • I enjoy funky little games like this.

  • I’ve seen a few of these archry simulators.   Interesting concept, but not very interesting

Makes with the working

V-

  • I would ding it a chair for the load times but that is pointed out in the notes.

J-

  • For the most part it runs well.   Got some pretty bad lag in single player for no reason,

Shiny / Sounds

V-

  • It’s definitely one of the best looking FPS games on Linux.

  • Ambient sound is top notch but the “here they come, fkr” audio is hella repetitive

J-

  • The game looks pretty good.

  • Found myself headbanging along with the combat music

Total-

Control

V-

  • No complaints here using the wireless gerbil + keyboard.

J-

  • Controls about as well as I remember

Total-

FUN

V-

  • I had “fun” for about two hours. This is when I realized it’s Serious Sam in heck.

  • No real story; just wave after wave + random boss fight.

J-

  • I remember playing the original in high school.   This is a nice trip down nostalgia lane

  • Really, that’s about it.
