- $3.9 MILLION wet stinky and we get this?
- I’m sorry but your faux isometric graphics (everything is 3D) look like a fist-full of MEH! $3.9 MILLION
- Seriously, the Torchlight II character models looked better.
- How come only half the shite during the choose your own adventure bits is voice acted Brad? $3.9 MILLION
- Where is the epic soundtrack? It’s just there and …bland.
J-
- I’ve always been of the opinion that infinity engine style games have aged fairly well
- This is no exception. The backgrounds look good and the character models are well done
- The voice acting is fairly solid, although like Venn I’m a bit miffed by it’s inconsistent presence
- Blind guardian was my soundtrack for this game, so no points for the OST
P-
- Look at all the 3D models in all the 2D backgrounds!
- Justin Bell tries desperately to be Mark Morgan and you can kind of hear the influences
- But the background music is nowhere near as good as Fallout 2’s or even Icewind Dale’s from Jeremy Soule.
- Still, the nostalgia kicked in the moment I saw the Baldur’s Gate/Icewind Dale style cursor and UI.

- Really? WASD does not move the camera AND you assigned other buttons to them?
- Middle gerbil button you say?
- Did the clicky scroll wheel even exist in the times of whatever generic RPG that you are attempting to nostalgia grab …poorly?

FUN
V-
- I sat for over an arn straight (that’s sexist) playing this thing thinking “for $44 IMA find something to enjoy”
- …I didn’t
- I played as a barbarian Elf and after finding the quickest ways to bypass the endless character customizationbullshit we find ourselves in a waggon-train.
- Everyone gets killed to death minus two.
- They get noped
- You kill a bear (not the sexy kind)
- Hey a town and oh, FKN, look! Shite went south soon as I showed up.
- Mix that with a metric FK tonne of dialogue that adds so very little and
- ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZzzZZZzzZZzzZZzzZz
- This is the type of game that I would bring with me if I was to be stuck on a island /w a Naquadah reactor + laptop and they didn’t allow fleshlights.
- I get it. It’s customizable and look at all the stats and story options and OMGWTFBBQ!
- Like last weeks game. If I’m an arn in and nothing has happened don’t expect me to soldier on.
J-
- Even on normal, this game is hard. Make no bones about it, you will die a lot. Luck and planning will go a long way
- Also, count on your casters running head first into enemies to cast spells. Cuz wizards are smart durr
- Save early, save often
- It really does harken back to the good ol’ Infinity engine games and it wins a lot of nostalgia points for me
P-
- I give Obsidian a lot of shit because after NwN2, KOTOR2, and Fallout New Vegas, they deserve a proper skullfucking, but this game is actually a step forward!
- I’ve come to realize they’re good with first-party titles!
- But they suck at continuing other people’s.
- Pillars of Eternity seems to have literally pulled forwards in time from when these people called their studio Black Isle.
